What about mascot tryouts? Here are some helpful suggestions for those crazy mascots!
Option 1
1. Have participants create a costume on their own. Judge on creativity.
2. If you would prefer them make up different costumes, here are a few examples: Lion, Dog, Rabbit, Bird, Chicken, Bull, or Bear
Use animals because they are usually an animal mascot. They can dress up the outfits they make like superheroes or holidays such as: Zorro, Superman, Batman, Santa Clause, or Easter Bunny.
3. Impromptu with one sack of props. This way each person has to make up skits with the same props. Judge on creativity and originality. By using the same props you can tell the participants creativity more than if they use different props.
Option 2 (Most people use this option because the candidates get time to prepare for the tryout.)
1. Have the candidates dress up in the school mascot costume.
2. Let the candidates make up a 1-2 minute skit on their own, including props and music.
